Y’all, I Had No Idea These Places Were Black-Owned

01/01/2026 | 2 Min. Read

Okay y’all, I’ve gotta confess… I had no idea some of these spots were Black owned. And looking at the names? Honestly, nothing would have tipped me off. Some of them sound like your average cafe or burger joint, but nope, these are hidden gems run by Black bosses doing their thing in Phoenix.

That’s exactly why this space exists, to lift up the Black owned businesses that fly under the radar. Places you walk past every day, places you eat at without even knowing who’s behind them, deserve to be celebrated. Sometimes, brilliance doesn’t announce itself with flashy signage or obvious branding, it is just quietly making moves, serving amazing food, and creating community. So I had to dig a little, and I’m so glad I did. These are the spots I found that surprised me the most, and now you get to know them too.
